CBI, Anti Corruption Branch, Chennai has caught red handed one Shri Sallong Yaden, Joint Commissioner, Income Tax, Range-VI, Nungambakkam, Chennai while he was accepting a bribe amount of Rs.8 lakhs from a Chartered Accountant, Shri Shreyans Bhandari of M/s. S.H. Bhandari & Co., Chartered Accountants. Both the accused Shri Sallong Yaden and Shri Shreyans Bhandari have been arrested. This amount was demanded and accepted by Shri Sallong Yaden to give a favourable report on the Income Tax search conducted on a private company based in Chennai. In this regard, CBI has registered a case vide RC 1(A)/15 u/s.120-B IPC r/w 7, 12, 13(2) r/w 13(1)(d) of PC Act, 1988 against Shri Sallong Yaden (A1), Joint Commissioner, Income Tax, Shri Hitesh Kawad (A2), Managing Director, M/s. SPR and RG Constructions, Shri Sanjay Bhandari (A3) of S.H. Bhandari & Co., Chartered Accountants, Shri Shreyans Bhandari (A4), S/o. Shri Sanjay Bhandari, resident of T.Nagar, Chennai. Searches have been conducted at 9 places at Chennai which include various residences, offices and also at few places outside Chennai. The accused Shri Sallong Yaden and Shri Shreyans Bhandari are being produced before the Special Judge for CBI Cases, Chennai. During the searches, several incriminating documents, files relating to the questioned Assessments, computers, laptops, cellphones, huge cash, huge quantities of gold jewellery and silver bars were recovered till the last reports came in. Searches are further continuing.
