CC London Etape 2015 Travel and Accommodation. As most of you will know, I put a small team together to help organise the travel and accommodation arrangements for our impending trip to compete in the 2015 Etape de Tour. The team has done an amazing job and in little over a week we think we have it nailed. There are two options for everything. For those staying for a week. And for those staying for a weekend. Travel For travel, we have looked into flights and train. Train is looking like the favorable option for cost and comfort. We looked into coaches and driving. We have put this to one side for now as we felt that it would, One, not be the best preparation for such a big ride being cramped in a car or bus for 14 or so hours. And Two, on the return leg, post ride, you will want to get back and a 14 hr drive maybe a bit daunting. So the options and costs are as follows TRAIN (Weekend): Friday July 17th. 07:55 St Pancras - Paris 11:17 (Eurostar) £40 / Paris 12:45 - Chambery (TGV) 15:38 £60 Monday July 20th. Chambery 10:24 - Paris 13:19 (TGV) £37 / Paris 15:10 - St Pancras 16:39 (Eurostar) £34.50 Total = £171.50 TRAIN (Full week): Friday July 17th. St Pancras - Paris (Eurostar) £40 / Paris 12:45 - Chambery (TGV) 15:38 £60 Sunday July 27th. Chambery 10:24 - Paris 13:19 (TGV) £37 / Paris 15:10 - St Pancras 16:39 (Eurostar) £46 (cheapest price £34.50) Total = £183 FLIGHTS Easyjet (Weekend) Friday July 17th 8:10 GTW (arr. 10:45 GVA) (£58.99 + £35 bike box) Monday July 20th 17:00 GVA (arr. 17:30 GTW) (£46.99 + £35 bike box) Total = £176 Easyjet (Full week) Friday July 17th 8:10 GTW (arr. 10:45 GVA) (£58.99 + £35 bike box) Sunday July 26th 13:00 GVA (arr. 13:30 GTW) (£67.99 + £35 bike box) Total = £197 BA (weekend) Friday July 17th 8:20 HTH (arr. 10:55 GVA) or 9:20 HTH (arr. 12:00 GVA) Monday July 20th 17:40 GVA (arr. 18:15 HTH) or 18:45 GVA (arr. 19:25 HTH) Between £163 and £179 BA (full week) Friday July 17th 8:20 HTH (arr. 10:55 GVA) or 9:20 HTH (arr. 12:00 GVA) Sunday July 26th 13:40 GVA (arr. 14:25 HTH) or 15:25 GVA (arr. 16:05 HTH) Between £163 and £179 Bike Transportation We are working on getting all the bikes transported down by van. We do not have that cost yet, however there are a couple of options we will have for that and the cost should not be too intrusive. ACCOMMODATION PRICES With Accommodation there are a few options. For those that are going for a week and wishing to do some real exploring of the area and catch a couple of stages of the Tour, there is Chalet 1330, which will be a full catered and ride lead experience where everything will be covered and you will be looked after to the extent that all you will ever thing about is to ride your bike. Chalet 1330 = £699pp for the week (Sleeps up to 13) Includes all meals (except one day of stay), arrival/departure transfers, Etape day transportation, guided van-assisted rides and Tour stage visits. Also includes daily briefings and debriefs. Towels and linen included. The night of Friday 17th would need to be in one of the other chalets because our previous weeks guests dont check out until Saturday 18th at 10am. Full Week 2. The Goatshed = £675pp for the week (Sleeps 12+) Includes all meals (except one day of stay), arrival/departure transfers, Etape day transportation, guided van-assisted rides and Tour stage visits. Towels and linen included. Self Catering Chalet The following options are self catering were we will need to buy and cook our own food ect. We are hoping to be able to take a few non riding helpers to help us with meals ect.. especially on the day of the event. We already have two willing volunteers. FULL WEEK PVR chalet (9 nights, Friday 17th July - Sunday 26th) £399pp includes arrival/departure transfers, Etape day transportation, three days of guided van-assisted rides on pre-planned routes. Tour de France stage visits. (You need to add the catering cost to this price but we usually work around £40 per head) Accommodation will be this or similar peiseyvallandrychalets/luxury-ski-chalets-peisey-vallandry/La-Couronne/sleeps-10/Couronne WEEKEND PVR chalet Chalet La Couronne (3 nights, Friday 17th - 20th) £250pp includes arrival/departure transfers and Etape day transportation. (Again, you need to add the catering cost to this price) Accommodation will be this or similar peiseyvallandrychalets/luxury-ski-chalets-peisey-vallandry/La-Couronne/sleeps-10/Couronne All the accommodation is quite close together and we will be arranging get together all weekend/week for both rides and social gatherings especially for the post Etape Party!! Well done to the organising team who have done a brilliant job to get all this together in such a short space of time!
