CC does have a couple of clusters of re-settled storm folks. But it was not a planned re-settlement effort. Dont say that. I think its just that when you find landlords willing to work with homeless folks with less than perfect credit, you tend to go back to that well over and over. - So weve got one cluster in Northport/Coker going west out 82. One cluster in Holt/Holt-Peterson. One cluster in West End between Dinah Washington and TY Rogers. And one cluster off Covered Bridge Rd in Brookwood. It was not a planned re-settlement effort in any conscious way. Truthfully, we just stuck them wherever we could get them taken in, as fast as we could, without giving it too much thought. - If they had a car, we stuck them in Brookwood or Coker/Northport. If they didnt have transportation, we tried to stick them in Holt or West End to be closer to the bus lines. - Thats about all the sophisticated planning that went into it. Pure expediency. But CCs got 376 of the displaced storm rental families back in permanent housing now. And thats a good thing. Plus they can always move around again later when they get back up on their feet if they want to. Its a free country.
