CCTV footage of a man brutally attacked in Melbourne’s CBD may help police identify the attackers. The victim was punched to the ground by one man and then kicked in the face by another. He suffered a broken nose and severe face injuries, which police say was a random attack. A gang of men are seen in the video and appear to hold one of the attackers back from continuing the shocking assault, as the victim cowers on the ground with his arms around his head. The attack happened on Lonsdale Street at about 3am on Saturday 20 September — but the video has only emerged today. Police say the men fled in a blue Mitsubishi sedan with a numberplate with the letters ‘QTI’ One man is described as caucasian with light hair and a fair complexion. He wore a dark suit and a pink shirt. The other man is European or Middle Eastern with dark hair and dark clothes and light suede boots.
