CDC Team Meets with President Koroma By State House Communications Unit A team of experts from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention from the United States of America on Tuesday 23rd September held a meeting with President Dr Ernest Bai Koroma at State House. The meeting was held to discuss the way forward taking into consideration the data that has been gathered so far and the overall assessment of the team during their time spent in the country. The CDC team has been in the country to do a situational analysis of the Ebola outbreak in the country and has been working closely with the Ministry of Health and Sanitation to help contain the spread of the virus. The Charge D’Affaires of the United States Embassy in Freetown, Kathleen Fitzgibbon, informed President Koroma that the team will be leaving the shores of the country tomorrow (24th September). She added that the data collected so far and experience of working with the Health Ministry will be of immense help to the response of the United States. The United States Embassy in Freetown had also loaned five well-equipped ambulances to the government of Sierra Leone to address the logistical constraints in the fight against Ebola.
