CDCR lies and cannot be trusted. California recognized this when they place it under the supervision of the Inspector General. CCPOA is a corrupt organization which profits from the rise in incarceration and the extensive use of SHUs. They also profit from lockdowns at the other state prisons as well. California has more people in its prisons than most countries. The conditions are deplorable. The lie told the public is that by locking up ever more people that the streets will be safer. The facts belie this. Also,through the media inmates are dehumanized and demonized to the extent that the public will allow any conditions withing its prisons because, "They deserve it." This attitude and the reduction of restorative programming actually contributes to an increase in crime and makes our neighbouthoods less safe.
