CELEBRATING A BRILLIANT ADMINISTRATOR AND A RIGHT-HONORABLE GENTLE MAN. Sir Abdul-Rahman Ajibola(Former President Of Our Great Department) It is always appropriate to give honor to whom honor is due. Today, honor and admiration is due to a right-honorable gentle man, Sir. AbdulRahman Ajibola, former President of the Students Historical Society of Nigeria, UNILORIN Chapter. We must celebrate this man. He was a very dynamic and special leader. A true politician, not an arrogant politrickcian. He stood by the department and all students in moments of joy and in time of grief. I remember when we lost a very dear colleague, President AbdulRahman was at the grave side to pay the last respect to one of our own. That was a leader who understood leadership. A brilliant administrator! In his class,He was the only one who came out with the prestigious grade of Second Class Upper Honours Degree in History during their graduation from our noble department. What a brilliant and extra-ordinary grace of achievement. Sir AbdulRahman is a man I admire so much. He will never raise his voice at anyone. Easy going, gentle, loving, helpful, and I see him as a man with an enigmatic charisma. A transparent leader- That is Sir. AbdulRahman. During his tenure as President,accountability and transparency in finance and policy was unquestionable. This was a man who took the department on memorable tour and excursion without any controversy. Sir AbdulRahman is special because of his spirit of innovation. I was inspired when I read his presidential speech at the paper back of his administrations Sourvenir. One statement that caught my attention was where He said: DONT LET ANYONE STEAL YOUR DREAM. Sir, as you celebrate your Birthday today,I pray you long life and prosperity. You will live to fulfill your dreams in life. Death shall not snatch you before your glory. Your name will be mentioned for greater achievements in life. We will ever respect your legacy sir.
