CELTIC boss Ronny Deila now faces a frantic deadline day as he bids to bolster his attacking options after Sporting Gijon frontman Scepovic performed a late U-turn on a proposed move to Parkhead. The sneaky Serb Stefan Scepovic last night did the dirty on Celtic and scrapped his move to Parkhead. The Sporting Gijon striker left Hoops chiefs fuming by staging an 11th-hour U-turn on his proposed transfer to the Scottish champions. Manager Ronny Deila now faces a frantic final day of the window as he looks to bolster his attacking options after being snubbed by Scepovic. The 24-year-old broke news of his decision late last night to leave Celtic fuming. Having worked on the deal for three weeks Hoops chief executive Peter Lawwell agreed a £2.4million transfer fee with Gijon a week ago . And despite losing out on a place in the Champions League group stage Celtic were still able to thrash out personal terms with Scepovic. The Parkhead club then paid for their own staff to fly overseas to conduct a weekend medical on the international ace. Celtic had also sorted a work permit to complete the signing this morning but Scepovic destroyed all the hard work last night by changing his mind. The striker told Hoops chiefs he wants to stay in Spain and it is understood Getafe are ready to make a move for him. Celtic are now scouring the globe to find a new hitman for Deila, although time is not on their side after being left in the lurch at such a late stage. As they hunt a scoring striker fringe men Teemu Pukki and Amido Balde are still set to leave today. Brondby are piecing together a deal for Pukki while Vitoria Guimaraes are on the verge of tying up a loan deal to take Balde back to his former club. It now looks unlikely that Celtic will be bringing in any players with only 12 hours left in the transfer window. Celtic may look closer to home with a few players in the Scottish Premiership being targeted in recent months.
