CENTENARIAN LAMBERT: The Gomant Vibhushan Award for 2013-14 was conferred on centenarian journalist, writer, freedom fighter Lambert Mascarenhas on the eve of his birth centenary on 16th September 2014 by Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar at the Kala Academy auditorium. Though he was brought on a wheelchair, Lambert was as cheerful as he sat through all the laudatory speeches. There was a large turnout of friends and acquaintances of the Mascarenhas family. He kept repeating, I dont know why they have brought me here. I only did what I was good at.
