CENTER CHURCH by Tim Keller: The other day I put out a post about seeker sensitive model for church (Go to my pg to review that). Tim Keller Pastor of Redeemer Presbyterian Church founded in 1989 wrote Center Church because the seeker sensitive model or other church growth models are on the way out. So, Pastors and church leaders were searching for another church growth model. Pastors and church leaders knew about the enormous growth at Redeemer Presbyterian especially among young people. So they were like lets go and check out the Redeemer model. Tim Keller is careful to explain in his Center Church book that there is no Redeemer model that we follow and put together that he explains what may work in one city may not work in another city because each city has its own cultural uniqueness. Keller explains about a Pastor that tried to use the same model of church that worked in one area but moved to another area that he tried to use the same model that it was a failure. Modes of church is not a one size fits all because people are different from city to city. We do not look at the numbers in the seats as away to tell success. We look at the number of disciples in the church that is healthy growth. Keller explains that he has never had to use the seeker sensitive approach. He said that he dont even have contemporary music. The worship is more jazz style, yet his church has continued to grow and be healthy, especially among young people. So what is it? Keller realized that it was the Gospel that all these things came together to grow the church. He explains here in this short 2minutes of Father, Son, Spirit, and Bible churches. https://youtube/watch?v=k_Wk0NORC1M
