CENTER FOR CIVIC LEADERSHIP WORKSHOP What: Translating Your Experience - A workshop designed for students who have completed a meaningful and extended experience, such as a service trip, summer/semester internship or job, personal travel, or research or study abroad. When: Thursday, April 17, 4:30-6:00pm Where: HUMA 117 What does it mean to translate your experience? Why do we spend time doing it? Translating your experience is all about taking what youve done and figuring out how to represent it to others. Specifically, we will will address the use of cover letters, essays, and a resume to share this information. In this workshop, students will identify the following: * What your experiences say about what you value (who you are); * Skills you developed as a result of the experience (what you can do); and * How to maintain relationships with your network of individuals. This workshop will be facilitated by staff members from the Center for Civic Leadership: Judy Le, Director of Leadership Rice and Mac Griswold, Director of the Community Involvement Center.
