CEO Conclave: 20th September 2014 Theme: Paradigm shifts in the management of organizations in a dynamic business environment. CEO conclave, which happened for the first time at SIESCOMS, started with a small speech by our respected director Dr.A.K. Sengupta emphasizing on the change that needs to be adapted in business dynamics. Mr. Vivek Mendonsa, Marketing Director of Lawrence and Mayo, took the podium sharing his experience and views on “Business imperatives in an uncertain business environment”. He focused on the following points: GDP and Inflation, Consumer goods sector, Top 3 performers in B2B and B2C , 9 Success Mantras, Effective ways for leaders to maintain composure in trying times as well as “What Lawrence and Mayo does”. It really helped everyone gain a lot of clarity on how to sustain ourselves in an uncertain business environment. The second session was a sheer brainstorming session, the topic being “Managing client and customer expectations” which was a panel discussion including the following participants: 1. Cdr Syyed Hussain, IN (Retd), Group Director, Corporate Affairs, House of Patels 2. Sanjay Mehta, CEO- Social Wavelength 3. Swapnil Rao, CEO- Mobizon India, Mentored by: Amit Joshi, Director- Training global Solutions. The entire session was a very interactive one, and all the questions of the students were addressed and explained with great insights and examples by the panel. This gave all of the students an idea on handling customer expectations in a much better way through various methods adapted by corporates nowadays. The key areas that the panel focused on were: Service, Digital Marketing, Experience of customer expectations, Brand Loyalty, Online medium for customer expectations. The final session was conducted by: Mr. Sambit Ghosh, CHRO of BMA Wealth Creators Ltd. He gave us an insight on the acquisition and management of talent during an economic downturn. He also explained how we can increase the productivity of 50% of the people working in an organization with strategic human resource planning. Mr. Ghosh expounded on the importance of maintaining trust between the people in the organization, and the need for competency mapping to know the strengths and weaknesses of the team.
