CERBERUS ALERT SYSTEM EXPLAINED HMAS Cerberus has long had a Base-Wide Alert System which allows it to disseminate important and emergency information across all departments, buildings, employees and visitors on the base should the need arise. The system also enables necessary practice drills to be run periodically. Alerts and messages broadcast are only relevant to employees and visitors on the base at the time of the broadcast. They are not intended as community alerts as any such Public Announcements would be broadcast through appropriate State, Police or Emergency channels. The Cerberus Alert System is undergoing improvements to quality and volume of the system - particularly in areas where noise levels are elevated due to the nature of training being undertaken. With consideration to environmental factors, some unavoidable sound overflow from broadcasts may be heard past the boundaries of HMAS Cerberus on occasion. This is not something that should alarm or concern our neighbours. Regular testing of alert systems are necessary to ensure continued safety, security and response times. HMAS Cerberus values the relationship it has with its surrounding community and will continue to train the men and women of the ADF to serve and protect to the highest standards.
