CERTIFICATE SAGA PART 4 : NIGERIANS SHOULD PARDON BUHARI LAI MOHAMMED, APC PUB.SEC. Lai Mohammed, national publicity secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has pleaded with Nigerians to forgive the party’s presidential candidate, Muhammadu Buhari, if he does not know where his certificates are. Speaking on Thursday on a TV show, Sunrise Daily, hosted by Channels TV, Mohammed said 53 Years is a long time for someone to leave secondary school and still know where his certificates are. Lai Mohammed, said: “53-years after a fellow has left secondary school, I think we should pardon him if he doesn’t even know where he has kept it.” Buhari’s educational qualification has been a topic on many lips including his die-hard-supporters.Already some educated elites are weighing options on their initial support to him. The ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) had accused General Buhari of not having the minimum or appropriate qualifications for running in the forthcoming February election. When it seemed like the pressure was becoming too much, Buhari had to hold a press conference to address the situation. Two prominent Nigerians, Justice Umaru Abdullahi and Alhaji Ibrahim Coomassie, later came out to reveal that they went to school with Buhari. However, while those prominient Nigerians could display their certificates to back-up their claims, Buharis School cert remains controversial. The APC national secretary noted that the issue of Buhari’s certificate, which has been creating a lot of buzz, is now dead and buried. “It’s a pity that Nigerians have been entertained and distracted over a non-issue,” Mohammed Buhari said. Despite the fact that Buhari addressed his certificate issue, and that his school, Government College, formerly Provincial Secondary School, Katsina, finally released his secondary school certificate examination results, some people have refused to let go of the issue. This was as a result of irregularities and forgery sorrounding the released result. What is your stake on this as a concerned citizen of Nigeria? Should we consider the educational qualification of Buhari as a non-issue as earlier addressed by him? Can Buhari be a better alternative for Nigeria? This is the first time in the annal of hisory that the ruling government were faced with a strong oppossition. Should Nigerians pardon Buhari vote him into power on fe-buhari 14 despite the forgery controversy behind his school cert? Is Buhari really the anti-corruption ceaser as he claims to be?
