CEU class in July in Berkeley Japanese Acupuncture: Treating Patients with Psychological Conditions: This is a very unique opportunity to learn a Japanese style of Acupuncture – Meridian Therapy – with a particular focus on the treatment of psychological issues. The instructor, Mr. Takahiro Funamizu, is an experienced teacher and practitioner at the college of Acupuncture and Moxibustion in Japan. His specialty of treatment is in reducing stress levels and mitigating psychological conditions such as insomnia, depression, PTSD (Post-traumatic stress disorder), IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome), eating disorders (bulimia, anorexia nervosa) and schizophrenia. He was part of a medical support team for the victims of the Tsunami and big earthquake in Japan about 3 years ago, and he treated many cases of suffering from various mental issues under extremely challenging environments. This work shop will provide you with solid training in the whole procedure of Japanese Meridian Therapy, from diagnosis (palpation and pulse) to treatment, with a special focus on non-invasive needling and indirect and safe moxa techniques. Takahiro Funamizu is the Assistant Professor at Kuretake Medical College and has previously been the Chief Instructor at Tokyo Medical and Welfare College. He is a board member of the Meridian Therapy Association and is considered one of their “young master teachers.”
