CFC Friends & Family, It is with great pride that I present to you the 2013 Checking For Charity East Coast tournament distribution numbers. This year’s east coast tournament saw participation from 24 teams in 4 divisions of competition. These teams played for a number of very worthy and deserving local/national/international charities and we are happy to continue to be a vehicle to raise money and awareness for charity through the great game of hockey. This year we raised more than $27,700 for charity and are happy to say that we gave more per team than any east coast event to date. To date, Checking For Charity has raised more than $131,000 for 116 teams and their participating charities since its inception. We’d like to thank all the players, volunteers, sponsors, and charities for their contribution to this year’s success. As we look forward to next year, we will continue our efforts to make our east and west coast tournaments the best they can be while looking for new locations to expand to. Our goal is to become the vehicle for anyone, anywhere looking to put on a charity hockey tournament. We are excited for this next challenge in the Checking For Charity evolution and hope you all continue with us on our journey. After every tournament we are consistently approached by folks that are interested in getting involved. Although it is difficult to lay out all the different ways you can get involved in our organization, please know that we are always looking for new teams, volunteers, sponsors/partners, and charities to join our team.
