CFC-KFC R.O.C.K. Reboot Training – On a Roll “Bringing kids - TopicsExpress

CFC-KFC R.O.C.K. Reboot Training – On a Roll “Bringing kids to the Lord and building a bright new world”, such phrase is the battle-cry of participants of the R.O.C.K. Reboot Training held last 4th of October at the Mary Immaculate Parish Hall in Eagle Vale, southwest of Sydney. Seventeen (17) would-be facilitators from the 4 different chapters in the Sydney cluster came to be trained and refresh themselves in being Kuya’s and Ate’s to the children of our community ministry – Kids For Christ. The R.O.C.K. program, essentially, caters to the trainings for facilitators (kuyas and ates) in handling the kids. It develops KFC facilitators to have a solid foundation in the Lord and equip them for the entire program of the KFC ministry. The program also aims to develop facilitator’s hearts that imitate Christ to kids by sharing the 7 KFC core values (prayerful, loving, obedient, respectful, diligent, generous, and honest). Thru the ROCK PROGRAM, facilitators will be guided in their attitude towards the kids, as well as a stepping stone for future leadership roles. Some sectors wondered why the training was labelled a “REBOOT” Training. Well, the training was planned to be an activity where re-appreciation of the Kids ministry has been the forefront of the topics and it re-emphasized the roles of these facilitators in the context of their own roles in their own ministries, where mostly are coming from older YFC (Youth for Christ) ministry. The service, nonetheless, is open to all ministries (SFC, YFC and HOLD) as well as from the CFC households. Ten (10) new YFC kuyas and ates and one tita from CFC came to attend and blended with the seven (7) previously trained ROCKers who willingly shared their experiences as well as renew their commitment to help implement the programs and activities in Kids for Christ. Though the training was literally prepared only a few days before the schedule day, it went successfully well with the full-complement of all Sydney chapter KFC coordinators (Jay/Bern Juan from Sydney West who were the team leads of the program, Bobby/Grace Edmilao from Hawkesbury, Ryan/Epai Rivera from Blacktown and Dex/Amie Ong from Sydney East) while Tito Dom Pangilinan watched over the sidelines as his beloved wife, Tita Josie Pangilinan, sat down besides the young attendees. Kuya Dondon Buntod, our full-time pastoral worker from Manila, who just for a couple of days just came from guiding the successful Australian Kids Village in Melbourne, facilitated the program. Not to be left out, our CFC National Council director, tito Reg Argana, came not only to bring her young daughter to the training but to see for himself how the training was going on. Light session talks provided by Tito Dex Ong (“Bringing Kids to the Lord”), Tito Oliver Molina (“Reach Out Christ to Kids”) and Tito Lorvic Osorio (“ROCK Solid Foundation”) was complemented by stimulating workshops led by Kuya Dondon, Ates Analiz Deganos and Francine Buenaagua. The “old” and “new” ROCKers mingled well together in learning the workshop basics and activities that they need to learn and equip themselves to handle and deal kids in their tutelage. These ROCKers whose desire to help implement the kids programs were reminded that their commitment is an extra mile on their part and above their pastoral /service commitment to their ministry (i.e. YFC) and not to consider it to be a separate entity from it. The whole training was supplemented with past and current KFC songs that the workshop facilitators included in the training program. It was nice to see the young attendees and service coordinators present that day singing and dancing to its tunes – just like kids! It was truly wonderful seeing these dedicated people sharing and working together to teach the children in bringing them to Christ. The day ended with all of them singing (and dancing) the closing song “Jesus Loves Me”, an echo of the closing salvo from the AKV in Melbourne. Looking forward now for more R.O.C.K training in the coming year and for these ROCK facilitators ready to accomplish their mission. The ROCK is on the ROLL! ~CFC KFC Coordinators
