CGM boosts global presence via acquisition of 3 European healthcare solutions providers Riyadh – March 11, 2014: CompuGroup Medical (CGM), the leading provider of eHealth solutions in Middle East and Turkey, has further reinforced its global market position following the acquisition of three European healthcare IT providers by CGM AG in the early days of 2014. This step expands CGM’s portfolio of healthcare solutions amid growing demand for eHealth services and shifts the company into the primary source of advanced Laboratory Information Management and Doctors Information Systems. CGM s latest acquisitions concern “vision4health Laufenberg & Co.”, a leading innovator in software solutions for laboratory and diagnostics in Europe. All significant assets and shares of the European firm, which has offices in Germany, Switzerland, Belgium, and France, were acquired recently. vision4health’s product suite consists of the market-established Modular Open Laboratory Information System (“molis”), which supports all relevant laboratory disciplines such as biochemistry and hematology, microbiology, histopathology, blood bank administration, and transfusion/ transplantation medicine. A newer version of the system called “molis vt” implements the most innovative work process models. The diagnostic portal “molis vt channel” complements this latest technology by supporting electronic ordering and results, paperless request for information and findings, and other value-added services between healthcare providers and laboratory services. The portal connects doctors’ offices, medical centers, wards, outpatient departments and laboratories for fast and efficient services. CGM also entered into an agreement acquiring 100 per cent of the shares of both “Imagine Editions” and “Imagine Assistance” in France. The move has doubled the number of doctors operating with CGM software products in France to 40,000 and makes CGM Number One in the French market for Doctor Information Systems with around 40 % market share. The companies’ main product is “HelloDoc,” a software solution for office-based healthcare providers for more than 25 years which is currently used by an estimated 20,000 general practitioners, pediatricians, and dentists. The firms also provide data and telesecretary services to healthcare professionals. “The acquisitions have opened new growth opportunities in the eHealth sector from Europe to the global market with a particular focus on the Middle East and Turkey. They form part of CGM’s efforts to grow its profit, market share, and technology base. The healthcare industry across the region will see more innovative solutions and services with this major development,” explains Mehmet Bilginsoy, General Manager CGM Middle East. “We recognize the value of creating proactive networks between healthcare providers and diagnostic services. Together with our ambulatory information systems and the innovative products from our recently acquired companies, we now have an improved end-to-end capability to serve laboratories, doctors, and hospitals even better,” adds Thomas Reitmayr, Vice President - Business Development CGM CEE. CGM Middle East aims to contribute to the growth and development of the market through industry-leading products such as the Integrated Health Information and Management System “CGM CORTTEX”, the “CGM CNG” Nursing Information System, and “iCNG”, a new and widely popular mobile application for CGM CNG developed as native iOS software. The CGM CORTTEX platform in particular is acclaimed for effectively addressing health industry challenges by providing relevant solutions for organizations to achieve continuous return on investment in a cost-effective manner.
