CHAMP - A0975173 @ the Manhattan NY High-Kill Shelter A volunteer writes: Champ seemed all ready for me when I showed up at his door. He looked at me with gentle eyes and very slowly got up from his blankie. His hinds were weak and obviously painful and I let him exit at his pace, ready to help if needed. Champ and I went for a very slow walk . He stopped many times to rest and eliminated on the way. We spent quite a bit of time resting in the front yard. Champ enjoyed some brushing and did not mind me pulling matted hair from his coat. Few dogs came to salute us and Champ wagged his tail in approval. Champ is a sweet and gentle dog who must have been a beauty in his prime. He still has gorgeous and soulful eyes that light up when I caress him. He still has an appetite and likes to eat roastbeef from my hands. Champ is an old gentleman, discarted by his owners most likely as he had become a burden. I hope a hero can make it right and give Champ the care, love and respect he deserves at his ripe age. Champ is at the Manhattan Care Center. ✔Pledge ✔Tag ✔Share ✔Foster ✔Adopt Today!
