CHANGING DOGMAS: FUFA delivers perfect weekend. =============================================== The Saturday 19th July will go down in history as the day the federation of Ugandan football turned the page from introduction to crisis management , to- how to meticulously organize and pull off a successful event. For those in the event management know how, it’s quite difficult to organize an event that hosts more than one thousand people. The amount of time, personnel, finances and partners, associated in these events is painstakingly difficult to negotiate. In the past, even hosting a friendly match ended in wrangles and cancelled contracts. You all know by now, FUFA, in a bold and loud statement, comfortably hosted two foreign teams, transported them, offered them security and accommodated them. What happened in the matches thereafter, like they say is history. For the first time in my sports life; no queues were seen stretching more than five meters, no police officers checking the fans with tough faces, no fans shouting about time delays and use of timely computerized authentication of tickets has given anew face to managing entrances. The beautiful guides did their jobs with a smile and it was a joy to be at the stadium of beaters, Namboole. It is only the naïve that think these things are by coincidence and random. They take hard work, sacrifice vision, team work, research and uncompromising leadership. Congratulations to the president of FUFA Eng Moses magogo and your staff, the coaches, the players and the fans of the Uganda cranes. This unprecedented organization, ended in the young lads of Uganda cranes stinging the hell out of their Rwanda counter parts four times without a reply. And after being shown the way by their juniors, the Uganda cranes put themselves in a good position to qualify for the group stage by beating their Mauritanian counterparts two goals to nil. When did you last watch two international games on the same ticket, when did you last see an under 17 side play in national team colors, when did you last watch two teams of Uganda win beautifully, the best is yet to come from this Magogo led FUFA. I cant wait for the next home game and see what the federation of Ugandan football has in store for us, we are going higher and higher, the sky is the limit.
