CHESTER, SC Mrs. Janie Louise Mahaffey Robinson, 90, died, Friday, January 24, 2014 at the Chester Regional Nursing Center. The funeral service will be 3:00 PM Sunday, January 26, 2014 at Parkway Baptist Church with Rev. Kenny Weaver officiating. The interment will be at Chester Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Saturday, January 25, 2014 at Barron Funeral Home. Born June 17, 1923 in York County, SC, Mrs. Robinson was the daughter of the late Lewis and Katherine Hargett Mahaffey. Mrs. Robinson attended Oakley Hall School and was retired from Chester Sportswear as a seamstress. She was a member of Parkway Baptist Church where she kept the nursery for over forty-three years. Mrs. Robinson was the widow of Leroy Robinson. She is survived by three sons, Mike Robinson and his wife Shirley, Tim Robinson and his wife Nancy and Joey Robinson and his wife Teresa all of Chester, SC; two daughters, Brenda Ashley and her husband Howard of Indian Land, SC and Ann Currin and her husband Dennis of Oxford, NC; twelve grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother Robert Mahaffey, Sr. and a great-grandson Ivan Robinson.
