CHEWING THE DAILY CUD For me to live is Christ, and to die is - TopicsExpress

CHEWING THE DAILY CUD For me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. (Philippians 1:21) In the fall of 1970, after living 19 years, I started to live. Here it is 44 years later, and I am still living. The first 19 years I lived for myself. The next 44 years I have attempted to live out Philippians 1:21. I was thumbing through my original Bible that I bought for myself when I became a Christian back in 1970, and I came across an underlined verse, Philippians 1:21. In the margin next to the verse I wrote, life verse. Many people walk around, breathing, going through the motions, but not living, just surviving. We are called to an abundant life (John 10:10) Jesus came and gave the abundant life, but I have found that I HAVE TO LIVE IT. There are times in my walk, that I revert to my walking dead default mode. I have to believe, confess, declare, proclaim that for me to LIVE IS CHRIST...and then actually choose to carry out the actions with my corresponding actions and LIVE LIFE OUT LOUD FOR CHRIST. Yes, the second part is true, TO DIE IS GAIN because we will be in His presence as we are absent from the body (II Corinthians 5:8), but until then I need to choose to live and not die, to live and not just get by, to live and to live abundantly.
