CHICAGO!!!!!! MR4!!!! What can I say??What a whirlwind for me,and ,I must say,for all involved...Starting with the craziness that happened at Chicagos Airport last week, all the delayed/canceled flights caused by a suicidal FAA employee...Jimi Jamison of Survivor fame, slated to play the festival, passing away unexpectedly(how absolutely heartbreaking :...-( ) People(myself included) wondering if this show would even come off.. But...It DID! First of all...Andrew McNiece of Melodic Rock, has cojones the size of watermelons..Its HUGE stress to put on a show like this, especially when your home base is Tazmania, and the festival is in Chicago..Thats 30 hrs of airtime to make that journey..Throw into that, all the logistics it takes to make it happen, and theres a path that few people ever travel.. But if you love something enough, its always worth it...And to me,thats what I took away from this festival..From Cris..who traveled all the way from Peru to see the show..From Junko, who flew all the way from Japan..From Vic Rivera of Adriangale, who along with his band gave a very moving tribute to Jimi Jamison (Vic...class act my brother..class act..)Keiran Dargan,of FireFest fame, supporting the genre that he loves so much and making the trip over from Ireland..From all the folks I met from all over America, and yes, even Canada..Kristen Davies, who interupted her 2 month vacation plans and hopped a plane from Hawaii(via Melbourne Australia) just to take in an evening, and then jet her way over to mexico..Tyler and Linda, from Florida, for sharing that awsome story with me...The boys from The Radio Sun..who flew all the way from Australia to play this, and help back me up as well..I cant ever thank them enough for a) their friendship, and b) the total brotherhood I feel that I have with them..Family, man...family.. I gotta tell you...I received so much love from this show,I thought I might burst...Everyone made me feel so welcome at the meet and greet..I was very moved by it all...I could go on and on and on,and keep naming names, but you all know who you are..(ps...honourable mention? The wood scupltures, guitar picks,guitars,plaques??beautiful..and such a moving tribute...thank you for showing up and sharing your talents with us...) I often say that thank you is not a big enough word...But LOVE is.. So much love to you all... I am now going to collapse, and sleep for 12-15 hrs... :)
