CHICO CITY COUNCIL RECOMMENDATIONS 1. Mark Sorensen (current Vice Mayor and the person who went to the grand jury and forced the city to disclose its true financial situation) 2. Andrew Coolidge - successful business owner and fiscal conservative (I believe he may be socially more liberal but is a hawk on money management and fiscal accountability) 3. Reanette Filmer - business owner, has worked with govt entities in an advisory/HR role and understands the inner workings and limitations of govt, and is an experienced collective bargaining agreement negotiator which is a huge plus as the city will begin negotiations with the police this Nov/Dec. She us very strong in fiscal accountability. All 3 of the candidates above are outraged about the overflow of homeless into the community and the dramatic increase in crime that has accompanied the homeless growth. They want to give the police the power to aggressively pursue violent and criminally oriented members if the community - something that the police are currently restrained from doing.
