CHINA: POLICE BEAT UP ANIMAL ACTIVISTS OUTSIDE A DOG SLAUGHTERHOUSE 30 Chinese animal activists spent their Christmas standing in freezing weather for days and nights, outside a dog slaughterhouse in Zhengzhou, China, until being mercilessly attacked and beaten by police. They were all arrested and taken into custody for 20 hours, only to be released without their phones, which have been confiscated by authorities. This article focuses on the aggression from the police toward the activists and the lengths Chinese animal activists are prepared to go to in defence of animals (includes 5 photos.) 200 Chinese police were mobilised against 30 unarmed animal activists, including two pregnant women.
