CHINESE INVASION IN MALAWI I am not a racist neither am i a revolutionist but i might be happy if somebody calls me a passionate Malawian. I need not remind everyone that in this country we have some friends from China coz if they are not in your community just wait tsiku lina muwaona atakwera Njinga akuitanira Masamba kapena Bonya mma line mwanumu. Well, in every economy Foreign investors are a necessity we can not debate about that, they help us in a number of ways such as helping us with new production ideas and of course are also a source of Government revenue through taxes and other charges leveled on their businesses. Indeed Foreign investors are drivers of every economy. The coming in of Chinese in Malawi to me was something i thought will bring a sigh of relief to our Unstable Economy with regard to the way they have managed to expand their economy after building from their communist mistakes and shaping their economy into a capitalist kind of economy. Little did i know that they are opportunists who wanted to use the friendship to enrich themselves. After making a follow-up on some stories they have been associated with on the ground, i realize that these people are also agents of poverty to our country. Check in most Chinese Shops the kind of invoices you receive; you will realize that they are fake receipts which they deliberately use to steal money from the government. These guys do not pay taxes to the government you can ask Hon. John Bande on this he almost chased some of them and am told they are good friends of some government officials ngati njira imodzi yokonza kapansi kuti kammwamba katsike. If that is not enough, many of them have been smuggling zinthu zochuluka kumapita nazo kwawo taking advantage of our weak and porous boundaries and laws. Another one was also caught producing replica jerseys for our national team and selling them at a very cheaper price and a lot of stories that can be said. Their products are usually short-lived and of poor quality and they claim they are meant for poor Africans. Poor Africans my foot! I thought some of these Chinese are the most poorest compared to us Malawians. Are they not here for the peace we have and spacious land that can accommodate them. They are jumping for every business that exist in our country(of course thats not bad with regard to my entrepreneurial background) monopolizing every form of business giving no chance to the locals who have no connection with their own government. Pano ayamba kuyala Masamba, mbatata ndi Mango mmisewu Mmalawi apanga chani? Koma we are only looking at ma projects akutipangilawa and we are convinced to say awa ndiye anansi...Do you know the impact they are bringing in competition for resources on the ground? Ana a CHI Chinese akubadwa mmakwalalamu..not many years from now expect a mixed race in this country...Akutitheraso ziweto mmanyumbamu paja amadya zilizonse...I wish we could go for some pretty development partners than these. The bottom line is, much as we know China as one of the strongest economy in the world, this nation has done a little in terms of providing support to our weak economy. They are rather contributing to our downfall than building us into a strong economy just as they are. They are taking opportunity of our country where by they have turned it into a second home where some of their country men can stay due to Resource pressures at their home. The government and Malawian Citizens should therefore tread carefully in their conduct. Let us have conducive environment where even local entrepreneurs can rise to a higher level and support government policies and programs. Thanks N.B Critics are welcome; they are a necessary component in academics. You can write a book with them.
