CHRIST AS CLOTHING IN RIGHTEOUSNESS “I put on righteousness, - TopicsExpress

CHRIST AS CLOTHING IN RIGHTEOUSNESS “I put on righteousness, and it clothed me: my judgment was as a robe and a diadem.” (Job 29:14) Righteousness was converted in clothing, and judgment into a robe and a diadem: it is true that Job put on righteousness and it clothed him, however, it was his own righteousness that he put on then. There are two kinds of righteousness that men wear as clothing: 1. Man wearing his own righteousness as clothing – This clothing of Self-righteousness is referred to as ‘Filthy Rag’ (Isaiah 64:6). 2. Man wearing another man’s righteousness or righteousness of other saints – This clothing of righteousness is referred to as ‘Fine Linen, Clean and White’ (Revelation 19:8). Indeed, the true righteousness of saints is the righteousness of Christ Jesus: As it is written, “But of him are you in Christ Jesus, who of God is made to us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption: That, according as it is written, He that glories, let him glory in the Lord” (1 Corinthians 1:30-31). Therefore, put on Christ as your clothing (Galatians 3:27), yes put on the new man who after God is created in righteousness and true holiness (Ephesians 4:24, Colossians 3:10, 14). It is understandable that the Angel who was clothed with a cloud, was safe both in the celestial realms, terrestrial and aquatic worlds (Revelation 10:1); but the woman who was clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet with a crown of twelve stars (who some erroneously refer to as ‘queen of heaven’), was not safe with that clothing: Even though she was clothed with the sun and stars, yet her child and herself was about to be eaten-up by the dragon. To be clothed with the Sun of light and glory, without the covering of God is to be covered with mere heats and burden. Job was covered with hedge and Satan could not penetrate into the hedge because of God (Job 1:9-11); but that woman was clothed with the Sun and stars, yet Satan was about to eat her child and herself: The devil is not scared of the covering of the sun, neither is the devil scared of any covering of man nor covering of glory; there is no covering or clothing that the devil is scared of, except when God himself is in that clothing or covering. There is only one clothing in which God lives inside, and that is the clothing of humility: As it is written, “Likewise, you younger, submit yourselves to the elder. Yes, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resists the proud, and gives grace to the humble.” (1 Peter 5:5).
