CHRIST IN THE TOMB I have always wondered in the two days Jesus - TopicsExpress

CHRIST IN THE TOMB I have always wondered in the two days Jesus spent dead, where was he? If Jesus carried our sins he then lost Gods favour, how did he then manage to fight death while he was a dead man full of sins? The above question was asked by a friend in one of my write ups. Jesus said on various occasions that He was going to be crucify and will resurrect on the third day. By this assertion, Christ was in the Tomb for three days. The principle behind Christ’s death and resurrection was that of taking away the sins of the world by His death on the cross. The death was important because the Bible says all have sinned and cut short from the glory of God and the wages of sin is death (Roman 6:23). For God so love the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believe in Him will not perish but have everlasting life (John3:16). All of us created being are subject to eternal death but Christ’s death has taken away our eternal death and instead gave us everlasting life through His resurrection. Christ has power over death and evil. Therefore the other bit of Roman 6.23 is our hope in Christ resurrection ‘but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Though we may die the first death but the bible calls it sleep but Christ’s death has prevented us from partaking in the second death which is eternal death.
