CHRIST IS THE LONE AUTHORITY Concerning religion matters God is the only one who has the say. He is the source of authority, the Father. He then gave His authority to the Son. And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth (Matthew 28:18). When Christ ascended to the Father He sent the Holy Spirit to the early disciples so that Christ’s teachings will be known to mankind: However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come. He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you. All things that the Father has are Mine. Therefore I said that He will take of Mine and declare it to you (John 16:13-15). By the command of Christ, these things were then to be taught to the nations. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit TEACHING, THEM TO OBSERVE ALL THINGS THAT I HAVE COMMANDED YOU; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age (Matthew 28:19-20). Paul said, I have not shunned to declare to you the WHOLE COUNSEL OF GOD (Acts 20:27). Having this in mind, we can conclude that the Mind of God was revealed to us in the last days in this manner: From God, the Father to Christ to Holy Spirit then to the first century apostles who wrote the Gospel. The Bible as a whole is sufficient and does not lack anything necessary for a person to be saved 2 Timothy 3:16 (NKJV) 16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness As Christ being the HEAD of the body called Church which are made up of Christians, He alone has the right to make rules and laws. The pope, a pastor, preacher or whoever is NOT an authority to even modify what God/Christ had commanded. Moreover anyone has NO right to impose any rule in the church which Christ NEVER authorized. This is the reason why in our spiritual journey we are being told again and again to grow in knowledge of His words so as we won’t be misled by false teachers. Christians must always ask the questions: Is this biblical? Is it authorized by God? A teaching or a doctrine, no matter how good or how moral it is in our eyes if it is not from God should be discarded: Proverbs 14:12 There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death. Jeremiah 10:23 O LORD, I know that the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps. My sisters and brothers in Christ, beware of the MANY SUGAR COATED teachings by the so called religious teachers: Colossians 2:8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. Ephesians 5:6 Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.
