CHRISTMAS RANT - Ladies and gentlemen, I know that each and every one of you tries to understand the life of dogs and cats here on Crete, the mentality that makes people do what they do to their animals. Living it day in and day out is not easy for anyone in animal welfare. When someone offers a dog a home, it really does lift us up to a higher level. Our hearts literally sing. PLEASE WHAT YOU CANNOT DO IS OFFER A DOG A HOME ON A WHIM, PLEDGE THAT THE DOG WILL NEVER SUFFER AGAIN, AND THEN DROP IT FOR (WHAT I CONSIDER) A NON-REASON!! This is a lifes work for Steve and Dawn, they eat, live and breathe the shelter. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE think long and hard before offering a home or a foster place. I have no more to add, and please no judgemental comments about this, just take it to heart and make sure that if you do feel you want one of our special dogs, that you are 100% sure in your heart and mind before you make the offer. It does affect us deeply. ROMEO IS BACK UP FOR ADOPTION, this boy is coming on in leaps and bounds and his trust and love for Dawn and Steve is starting to shine through, this love and this trust could be yours.
