CHRISTMAS SERVICE TOPIC: CHRISTMAS IN THE EYES OF THE WISE MEN TEXT: MATTHEW 2: 1 DATE : 25th DECEMBER,2014. SPEAKER:Rev.Dr.Joshua Talena The wise men were the first mortals that had the first information. It is impossible to know Jesus without revelation; until you have revelation your service to God won’t be complete. “Revelation changes a man’s direction”. Your Christianity will lack foundation if you don’t have the revelation of HIS person. Truth and submission begins with revelation. Every man that has a revelation cannot be normal. How to celebrate Christ? 1. BY BROKENNESS- Brokenness is a proof that you met Christ. Spiritual behaviour is as a result of spiritual revelation. 2. BY FOLLOWERSHIP- You can’t have a revelation about Christ and not follow him, going to church is not following the saviour. When you followership is based on condition you won’t go far. If you are following him for what you will get you are just wasting your time. In your followership you must not lose focus from the one you are following because it is revelation that guarantees your destination. Matt 4:19. Followership makes people while inconsistency destroys people. Many prayers are not answered because of lack of followership. 1 Cor 10:10 , Luke 18:28 Note: FOLLOWERSHIP WILL COST YOU EVERYTHING. 3. WORSHIP- Christmas is meant to worship God. When the wise man found him (Jesus) they worship Him. When men are in church and don’t worship God they attract curse. Revelation invokes worship, Revelation is not just an act but an attitude (Lifestyle) without regards to whom is around you. Act of worship is different from the lifestyle of worship. Until worship becomes a lifestyle you are not a wise follower. The importance of what the wise men brought to Christ in our worship: 1. They brought Gold- You must give to the propagation of Christ, your resources must be at the interest Christ, your life must be an example of Christ. If the interest of Christ is not being sponsored by your resources then you are not a true worshiper of Christ. Every true worshiper of Christ must sponsor the interest of Christ. The church has not gotten the revelation of giving because people who give don’t complain. Worship is not complete without sacrifice. 2. They brought Myrrh- Myrrh is a preservative and it is used to preserve dead bodies, it is embalmment. Until you are myrrh for God you are not a true worshiper, you must live to defend the body of Christ. They gave him myrrh to preserve his body because they knew He will die some day, they knew the revelation. Worship is not complete if it is not reflected in your behaviour. 3. Frankincense- This represent your lifestyle and people should smell Christ through you. When they look at your life they will want to serve God. Be a Frankincense and don’t carry denointing but let your life carry anointing. Don’t carry a foul smell carry a good smell and let your name not smell, carry honour. Use your good name to propagate the gospel and if you have to live your life, live it as if you are living it for Christ because that’s the best way to move the gospel forward.
