**CHRISTMAS TRAVEL ALERT** The National Weather Service in Chicago has issued a winter storm watch from Wednesday morning through Wednesday evening. Rain is expected to transition to wet snow in the mid-morning hours. A narrow band of heavy wet snow will form somewhere over the watch area around noon through the early afternoon. Light to moderate snow will then continue into the early evening. Snow rates of 1 to 2 inches per hour with over 2 inches per hour expected within the heavy snow band. Accumulations of 3 to 7 inches expected, with locally higher amounts possible under the narrow band. Travel will be difficult and nearly impossible within the narrow band of heavy wet snow. The heavy wet nature of the snow will make it difficult to shovel. Updates here: trib.in/1GTD9KV
