CHRISTMAS: YOU ARE HERE AGAIN? Since I was a kid, you had been a constant feature, dotting my calendar space with your ubiquitous presence. At the beginning, the attraction was the fun of your arrival. The firecrackers, the carols, the rice and the chicken, the brand new dresses... Later, the endless parties, lavish picnics and unforgettable holidays. Then, you took on a Personality and your appearance pushed the Celebrant not only in my face but in my heart. And you shifted my focus from me to others, insisting that the God who gave me His precious Child demanded that I gave something precious too - to others. You persuaded me Christmas was not merry until I have made others merry too. Like an Oliver Twist, you insisted that I could indeed make everyday Christmas for me and for many others, by cultivating a lifestyle of giving. With that I dont have to pack goodness into December.
