CHROMATIC FIRST THURSDAYS: JUNE OPENING Join us as we premiere our June artist, Mordy Haunts. His set is entitled City of Mutants, an personal imagining of a fantastic, grotesque underworld. Along with these prices, we will be showcasing Mr. Haunts limited edition design for our San Augustin. Opening starts at 6pm and ends at 9pm. Here is a little bit about this artists imaginative inspirations: I grew up in the late 80s with an interest in any oddball, non-human characters like Toxic Crusaders, Marvel, Swamp Thing, Ninja Turtles, Garbage Pail Kids, and Wacky Packages. I loved video games like Mortal Kombat, Mutant League Hockey, Slaughter House, Polterguy, Zombies ate my Neighbors...etc. During these young years, I always thought there was life in the sewers, I always took a gander underneath bridges and through big drains. I spent alot of my teenage years down there. I thought, if I yelled loud enough in the water ducts, something would holler back. I have yet to see anything of a somewhat human scale to exit these putrid drains, but I still believe that one day something will. These Mutants are something I imagine to see... From a city beneath our own.
