CHUA HAPPY WITH CARIASO, ASSURES NO MORE TRADES FOR GINEBRA MANILA -- Though its achieving sister team San Mig Coffee Mixers recently entered into a trade agreement, management of Barangay Ginebra San Miguel insists they arent looking to make any moves, atleast in the ongoing PBA Governors’ Cup. Ginebra governor Alfrancis Chua told Solar Sports Desk that with the way they are displaying a resurgence, tweaking the line-up at this time is definitely at the bottom of their priorities. “Wala kaming trade. Wala, OK ang takbo ng team eh,” Chua said. The charismatic Ginebra official likewise expressed his praises for coach Jeffrey Cariaso who has re-injected energy and vigor to the team’s campaign. “Maganda ang ginagawa ni Jeff sa team. We take our hats off to him, hopefully Ginebra can sustain this run. Para sa mga fans naman ang lahat ng ito,” added the outspoken former Gin Kings mentor. Chua likewise bared how they are also luring other players on the team to start getting their groove back and continue finding ways to contribute every game. “Talagang we want everybody in the team to be involved. And we are happy to see the effect so far,” said Chua. The flamboyant Ginebra governor also singled out former reserve guard Jens Knuttel, who is showing potential and value to the rotation as a third string guard. “Kita mo si Jens. Maganda ang ipinapakita nung bata. Inspired talaga siya every game. Kasi kinakausap rin siya ng coaching staff. Ako rin minsan sinabihan ko si Jens na just focus, just play,” he bared. “Minsan nga nahihiya siya tumira. Puro pasa yung bata, kaya sinabihan namin na huwag matakot. Kaya ayun, lumalabas na ang laro,” Chua proudly said. Currently at the top with a 4-1 win-loss record, Ginebra is looking to record another victory on Sunday as they take on the Rain or Shine Elastopainters , which are coming off a morale boosting 123-72 win against the Alaska Aces last Wednesday.
