CHUKWUEMEKA NGOZICHINEKE WOGU (NWADIALA ) Chief Barr. Emeka Wogu is the Nigerian Minister of Labour and Productivity. He is a legal practitioner, a technocrat and an astute politician. Emeka Wogu was born on 29 January 1965 in Aba-South Local Government Area of Abia State. He completed his secondary school education at Ngwa High School, Aba in 1980. He thereafter attended Federal School of Arts and Science Aba, between 1981 and 1982. He proceeded to Imo State University obtaining an LLB in 1986, and the Nigerian Law School where he obtained a BL in 1987. In 1990 he established a private law practice, Emeka Wogu & Co. He also earned a Masters in Public Administration from the University of Calabar in 2004 and Master of Science in Political Science-Public Policy Analysis (2011) from Nasarawa state University. Chief Wogu holds a certificate in Benchmarking Emerging Markets (2008) issued by S.P Jain Institute of Management, Singapore. Chief Wogu is presently pursuing a Doctorate Degree in Political Science (part time) at the University of Nigeria Nsukka. Chief Wogu has held several postions in his political career including Assistant Legal Adviser of the defunct Liberal Convention in the old Imo State in 1989; Chairman of Aba South Local Government Council. He was elected to the Federal House of Representatives in 1998. In 1999 he was briefly the political adviser to Orji Uzor Kalu, governor of Abia State. He represented Abia State for two terms as commissioner at the Revenue Mobilization Allocation and Fiscal Commission. He was appointed Minister of Labour on 6 April 2010. Chief Emeka Wogu is a recipient of several traditional titles including Omezuru of Ohazu, Kpakpandu of Aba, Nwadiala of Aba and Amulutto of Oshogbo. On September 12, 2012, Chief Emeka Wogu, delivered a lecture titled “Towards Sustainable Industrial Peace In A Globalizing Era: Issues, Challenges and Potentials at a lecture Organized By CEPACS to commemorate 2012 World Peace Day. Chief Barr. Emeka Wogu is a devout Christian, a member of Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Nigeria. He is happily married and blessed with beautiful children.
