CHURCH OF THE MIND Here is Pastor Soko. To love my family is not to hate yours. Similarly, until post-tribe (or nation as some would prefer) or post-race, to love my tribe with all its beauty and warts is not to hate any tribe or race. After all, we celebrate variety--dont we? My love for Evelyn Bagala or Muganga Fred is as genuine as it can be. I love the Bagandas great sense of humor and business acumen. So, is my love for my tribal cousin, Norman Lakayana is equally genuine. I have genuine love for my Mutooro friend, Galihamutwe Pima. I dont know what tribe my good friend Dr. Joe Mugisha Kenneth belongs, but he is a good man even as he, in a foggy note, described one of my post as unintelligible even as I wondered who was being unintelligible. I love my funny Musoga friend, DPaul Luwano. So, in the end, I love being an Acoli without being chauvinistic and hateful. That is what my childhood was nurtured on and I am defined by it. I wish you the same in what you find yourself to be. When we meet at work, at play, in school or wherever, we should respect and enjoy our different backgrounds for the good of the country that we find ourselves in through no active choice of ours.
