CIA-FBI have sought the closure of Central Delhi and the Delhi-Agra Highway (including all the shops, restaurants & hotels on it) for 3 days during President Barack Obamas visit to India. Barack Obama will be in India from January 25-27 as hes the chief guest at the Republic Day celebrations on January 26 (first time for a US President) and will be visiting the Taj Mahal on January 27. The CIA-FBI have demanded that there should be no access to Central Delhi on January 24 and 25. All government buildings in that area -- North Block, South Block, Rail Bhavan, Krishi Bhavan, etc should be sanitised by January 24. They have also demanded that all roads in India Gate area, Rafi Marg, Janpath etc to be closed for general public two days before January 26 (yes, let the tourists, shoppers & local business suffer). They have also asked that all shops, restaurants and hotels to be shut along Delhi-Agra highway for two days (Jan 26 & 27) as Obama will be visiting the Taj Mahal. They have also asked the Indian Air Force to provide air cover. Kyun be saale, tu laath sahab hoga (you would be the BIG BOSS) in the US and among your NATO allies and stooge states like Pakistan & Saudi Arabia. But in India (a member of the BRICS alliance) youre just a visiting foreign head-of-state of a non-BRICS nation and NOTHING else. Even if you were the head-of-state of a BRICS nation, even then you cant dictate your terms. Agreed that your security is all the more important, given Indias location and also the many threats that are coming, but that doesnt mean Indians be deprived of their livelihood and even access to leisure for 2-3 days just because you want to be safe. No self-respecting & sovereign republic should submit to these unreasonably exorbitant demands. India cant and must not bend on its knees to make the US or any imperialistic/hegemonic power feel all the more special. I dont have much expectations or hope from the Neo-Liberal #ModiSarkar but if they dont give in to these demands, I will seriously appreciate, laud & even praise them to the skies. I have so far not opposed Obamas India visit but if the Indian government agrees to give him all this pampering, then even I will join the Protest against his visit.
