CIFR/CMCRC Honours Scholarship Program in Australia 2015 The Centre for International Finance and Regulation and the Capital Markets Cooperative Research Centre are awarding Honours scholarships for studying Finance, Accounting, Economics, Actuarial Studies or Law. Scholarships are available to students currently studying an Undergraduate or Master’s degree and eligible to enter an Honours or equivalent research program at CIFR consortium universities. Students must undertake research relevant to financial market regulators and other industry participants. The application deadline is 13 March 2015. Scholarships are awarded for studying Finance, Accounting, Economics, Actuarial Studies or Law. Scholarships are available for pursuing an Honours or equivalent research program at UNSW Australia, The University of Sydney, University of Technology, Sydney, Macquarie University, The Australian National University and The University of Melbourne. The Centre for International Finance and Regulation (CIFR) and the Capital Markets Cooperative Research Centre (CMCRC), Australia is providing these Scholarships. Eligibility: To be eligible for this Scholarship, candidates must be: -currently studying an Undergraduate or Master’s degree and eligible to enter an Honours or equivalent research program in: Accounting, Actuarial Studies, Economic, Finance or Law -currently studying in CIFR consortium universities: UNSW Australia, The University of Sydney, University of Technology, Sydney, Macquarie University, The Australian National University and The University of Melbourne -undertaking research relevant to financial market regulators and other industry participants. -International Students are encouraged to apply Australian and international students are eligible for these Honours scholarships. The Centre for International Finance and Regulation (CIFR) and the Capital Markets Cooperative Research Centre (CMCRC) are offering a prestigious opportunity for up to 15 students with a demonstrated interest in financial regulation. Interested in finance and regulation, and planning to do Honours next year? The Centre for International Finance is offering a prestigious scholarship for up to 15 students, studying Commerce, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Actuarial Studies, Law or a related field. The CIFR and Capital Markets CRC are offering an opportunity for honours students to receive a scholarship grant of up to $15,000 and other benefits such as the opportunity to present their work to a senior audience and providing individualised feedback on their research. The Centre for International Finance is offering a prestigious scholarship for up to 15 students. The CIFR / CMCRC scholarship not only provides a scholarship grant of up to $15,000 but will also provide each selected student with: -valuable industry exposure; -individualised feedback on their work; -invitations to exclusive CIFR events; and -the opportunity to present their work to a senior audience. The scholarships will be awarded based on: -the academic merit of the student, including their potential to pursue a research-based career; -the relevance of their proposed research project to CIFR’s research agenda; and -the potential of the proposed research project to deliver useful outcomes. Scholarship recipients will be announced by early to mid April 2015. To apply for the CIFR / CMCRC Honours Scholarship Program 2015, you must provide the following documents: -Completed Appication Form -For Australian citizens or permanent residents: A certified copy of your birth certificate or citizenship certificate; or evidence of permanent residency granted by the Department of Immigration & Ethnic Affairs. -For intenational students: A certified copy of evidence of your Visa approval. If you are applying for or intend to apply for, a Visa, please include correspondence with the Department of Immigration & Ethnic Affairs. -A one page research proposal, clearly setting out the research question you plan to address, how you plan to approach this task, and the relevance of your research to Australian financial industry policy makers, regulators and/or other industry participants. -A certified copy of your tertiary entrance results. -A certified copy of your official academic transcripts from universities attended. -Your Curriculum Vitae. -If available, details of all publications you have contributed to and in which you are named, including journal name and article title. Please attach the first page of each article. -Academic Referee Reports by two senior academics.
