CIS team members have the opportunity to nominate fellow co-workers for going above and beyond in providing world-class care to our patients. Join us in congratulating the following employees who were chosen as our winners for the month of June: Shannon Hebert (Breaux Bridge)- Teamwork Shannon has been helping a new employee get acclimated to a new career and a new job. He has been patient, helpful, and so willing to share his knowledge. When the new employee was asked, who has gone above and beyond in helping you to be successful, instantly she said Shannon. She states, He is a blessing. He is a great person. He comes in to help do a study if I have a question. Shannon is being a great teacher and mentor to help this new employee succeed. His willingness to teach and coach will make sure our patients continue to receive world-class patient care. Tyra LeBoeuf (Corporate)- Attitude I’m sure it comes as no surprise to many, but Tyra is truly a CIS superstar! She recently took time out of her Saturday to instruct a CPR training for the Bayou Autism Society. Not only was she very willing to her “job,” but she talked personally with the participants before the event started, stressing the importance of CPR and using her knowledge to answer questions. Tyra truly believes in this cause, and it shows when she speaks and presents on the topic. She shared her passion with the group, and they responded with true care and concern for what they were learning. She even offered for them to call her at the office if they had any questions after the fact. And although only 10 people were trained, Tyra knows that she made a difference, and she would have been willing to train just one. She truly believes in making our community a safer place, and that attitude is why she is world-class! And not only did she inspire others to save a life, but she showed them that CIS has compassionate employees who truly care for their patients and their community. Amanda Bergeron (Houma)- Attitude I recently had a patient tell me that she couldnt forget her jacket because it belonged to one of the ladies at the front desk. My patient said that she was cold and the nice lady noticed her shivering in the waiting room and loaned her her jacket. I found out that the jacket belonged to Ms. Amanda Bergeron. She is always smiling welcoming our patients into the clinic. She is so compassionate and kind. Thanks to Ms. Amanda, the patient had a warmer visit that day. Shontel Cleveland & Brandi Fontenette (Lafayette General)- Reliability This is a dual nomination for some outstanding team members from our LGMC clinic, Brandi Fontenette/MedTech and Receptionist and Shontel Cleveland/LPN Research Nurse. On May 28, Lafayette was deluged with an unimaginable amount of rainfall and flooding. I had a health event set for that morning, where I was to have a tech from our RMCA clinic assist me. When her home was surrounded by flood waters, the tech was not able to come to work, nor able to assist me with the cholesterol screenings. I was desperate to find someone from one of our clinics, but each clinic had several team members stranded and unable to come to work that morning. In the meantime I had 25 people coming to be tested at 9 a.m. and more than half of them showed up by 8:45 despite the weather! I had reached out to Shontel to see if she could come assist in between her research patients, but she too was in a flooded situation, and was detoured while on her way into the LGMC clinic. At 9:30, I still had no help available, and just as I went to cancel or reschedule the screenings, Shontel called me to say she and Brandi would be able to come help me, so I ended up with 2 volunteers! By 10:20, when Brandi and Shontel got there, you never would have known they had traveled across town in such hazardous conditions. They were smiling, gracious and so very professional. With three machines going, and with great focus and precision, they were able to get through every cholesterol screening in a very short amount of time, as they had to return to the busy clinic. I would consider these ladies extremely dependable, both with patients inside the clinic and outside with the public! I would welcome them any time to work with me at any community event representing the CIS team. Thank you Shontel and Brandi! I could not have gotten through that morning without you both!! Angela Durocher (Morgan City)- Initiative Our Morgan City Office is always busy! And Angela is always early and ready to get prepared for the busy day ahead! As the flow of patients can sometimes arrive in spurts of large numbers, her quick and keen eyes can spot a soon-to-be distressed patient and quickly turn things for the better. All patients are closely monitored during the nuclear stress test; our professionals concentrate hard on keeping that patients health and safety at the optimal best! After the test is completed, a patient may feel other effects and become worried about feelings of nausea, weakness, or headache. Angela is quick to spot the patient, offer water, a snack, and then go to make a fresh pot of coffee for that special patient, easing any distress with helpful reassurance until they are feeling back to normal. The smile is free, and the patient has one too! I spotted this happen at least 3 times this month, and well, one patient wasnt really having symptoms at all. She just wanted the snack, to get an extra visit from Angela, and to get a little more of our CIS expertise! Great job Angela! Nancy Domingue (Opelousas)- Teamwork The clerical nurse desk is super busy on a Monday. Nancy was helping in Coumadin clinic and the schedule was light. She called me in clerical and told me not to worry about refills because she would help. She said, Just call your patients. One patient replied, Thanks for getting back to me so promptly, and I knew it was because of her offer to help that this was possible. Nancy offers to help often. I just need to let the rest of CIS know how generous she is. She also shares snacks, ink pens, and gum...thats good stuff when its busy! The patients love her; she goes above and beyond for them also. Angie Lottinger (Raceland)- Initiative A patient that was from Florida was seen in the Houma clinic and the doctor had ordered her to have some ultrasounds done the next day. Angie went out her way to make sure the patient had the test done at the Raceland clinic because there were no available appointments in the Houma clinic. She really was a big help. Thanks Angie.
