CITIZEN AYOOLA OGUNJOBIS VIEW ON PRESIDENT JONATHANS CAMPAIGN SPEECH IN LAGOS I believe that young Nigerians, not people who are spent and finished. not people of my age, we are gone… that is why I said I am addressing people from the ages 18- 23 those who are voting for the first time, we believe that you people will take us to the moon. My generation has failed we couldn’t take Nigeria to the moon. My take on this statement is... if the President feels he is TOO OLD to offer Nigeria anything as he is spent and finished which is clearly obvious, he should gently step aside like General Babangida his father did so the seventy something year old man that is still young at heart and mind, who BELIEVES in himself; that he WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE working with EVERY NIGERAN who has something to offer gets the opportunity to do so... just like he did before in his 40s! If the Presidents generation could not take Nigeria to the moon, why didnt he as President try to get her to lift off the ground at least... or have his efforts been futile? Right now, the country is crawling compared to those countries he says were at Nigerias level in 1960! A man without belief in himself can have no purpose and will be a stumbling block to progress. One person with a belief is equal to ninety-nine who have only interests. - John Stuart Mill What a speech from a sitting president! I am very embarrassed!
