CITIZEN Q: Early childhood educators across the province have taken to the streets to protest their pay. They say they aren’t babysitters, they are trained educators and deserve more than the $12-$15s they currently make. They claim they are the lowest paid in the country and that more reasonable wage would be $20-$25 an hour. In other provinces early childhood education is part of the school system. It’s universal, with a standardized curriculum and the teachers make more money. Do you think our early childhood educators should be paid more? Call 407-2100 vote ‘yes’ or ‘no’ and tell us what you think.
