Department/Directorate/Region: Development Planning Branch: Legal Administration Deputy Director: Legal Administration Salary range: R31 909 – R43 406 – R54 905 pm Educational requirements and experience: • Unless the incumbent can demonstrate that he/she has developed the necessary competencies through experience, an LLB qualification is required • Postgraduate qualification in property and management studies is preferable • At least eight (8) - ten (10) years’ working experience in legal and property management of which five (5) years should be at a management level. Job description: Responsible for a critical function relating to Good Governance within the City. This function provides the checks and balances with reference to all land development taking place within the City. It ensures compliance with all legal requirements and all Council (including the MOEs) requirements. The proper regulation of these checks and balances contributes to the value of the City’s rates base. To protect the legal interests/rights of the Council, Service Providers (engineering and infrastructure) and Capital Investors (developers in a complex environment in relation to legal and land use applications and land development process by ensuring the quality of recommendations and decisions to limits the risks, potential claims and litigation against and /or within involved parties, and to ensure that the conditions to decisions are successfully implemented before permitting the exercise of rights or the transfer of properties while ensuring Good Governance and Sustainable Human Settlements). Branch: Land Use Management Professional Specialist Engineer Geologist Salary range: R24 807 – R33 145 – R41 488 pm Educational requirements and experience: • National diploma or equivalent NQF level 5 qualification in Earth Sciences is required • Three (3) - five (5) years’ relevant experience. Job description: To provide an integrated, cost effective, professional geotechnical service to the City of Johannesburg, the Utilities and Agencies and the public, in order to ensure compliance with founding and construction standards as imposed by local, provincial and national government legislation and the requirements of professional bodies. Spatial Planning experience is an added advantage. Job description: • Provide strategic planning and development service • Formulate and implement framework, policies precinct plans and development strategies of high complexity and the initiation of development project and programmes • Provide development direct, integration with IDP and associated strategies and plans • Management and input into development processes, projects and programmes • Direct interface and recommendation to political level, senior officials and public • To coordinate the planning, development and management of infrastructure within the City of Joburg and to ensure alignment with IDP and associated strategies • Facilitation of development process and projects for implementation.
