CITY PLANS DEER ROADSIDE SURVEY To assess deer population levels within the northeastern part of Bemidji, as directed by the citys Deer Management Plan, a BSU professor Brian Hiller and his students will be conducting an evening spotlight survey. The survey will be completed, weather-permitting, from 4-6 pm between Oct. 13 and Nov. 5 within the area generally bounded by Lake Avenue, Elliot Road, Tyler Avenue, and Mill Street. They will be using a BSU vehicle and driving at slow speeds shining a spotlight. Should you witness this survey activity, refrain from calling the Bemidji Police Department or the Beltrami County Sheriffs Department regarding this activity, which would normally be perceived as illegal. For more information, call Teresa Hanson at 759-3562 or Officer Tom Charboneau at 333-8374. For specific survey questions, contact Shelly Gorham, Minnesota DNR Bemidji Area Wildlife, at 308-2332.
