CITY comes to the rescue! Even though my eye is twitching because I had to admit they did a good job, Connie and James broke it down to the EDC board that the public absolutely did not want the PARTNERSHIP anymore! James said everywhere he goes that is all he hears. WE have been heard loud and clear! WE were successful due to all of us, family and friends who came together as one voice to be heard over and over and over again. So, everytime you catch yourself saying outload it doesnt matter, they are going to do what they want anyway, take a deep breathe and walk to a mirror and say YES! we can. It takes a group with a common concern and goal working diligently while staying aggressive. Take a day off if you get frustrated like I have several times, but pick it back up the next day. If city or county officials are rude to you, smile and walk on by. That lets them know you will be back. (that shout out is to Connie and Johnny and their 5 minute timer). lol. A smile comes on my face when they start it. When are they going to realize all they are doing when they cut me off is inviting me back to finish next time. We still have a problem. The EDC board members are relying on two paycheck Sherri for advice. OUCH!! She worked right beside Don day after day, knew his secrets, knew he made fun of Cocke County and its people, made fun of Council and CLB and their lack of knowledge, knew he didnt have prospects for industry when he said otherwise in his vision speeches, should I go on..........? Her obligation was to city. She should have informed her employer (city), FIRST! We still have a problem. Legally the Newport/Cocke County EDC can be brought from under PARTNERSHIP because it has 501 c 4 status of its own. SIMPLE. No. If you do not create a new EDC and board and use the old one brought out from under the PARTNERSHIP.......Don would come with it because he is the Director. NOooooo ! RED ALERT!! Did someone forget to tell James the problem is PARTNERSHIP/Mr. Hurst combo. Please Michael McCarter get to me and tell me that was made 100% clear to James and Connie. Everything said I will wait for Snoopy Snaders report in morning and see what fiction novel Duay will print in NPT and then I will correct them, if wrong or fill in the blanks. That is a sad statement but I am a realist. Goodnight and remember to give your child/grandchild a big hug in the morning, look in their faces and remember why you do it all !!
