CK here - Yesterday my friend Steph lost her dog Ducky. Thankfully, with the help of great neighbours, Ducky was returned home safe and sound. While trying to help my friend find her dog, I was given some amazing tips that I would like to share with you should you ever lose your pet or find someone elses. 1. File a lost/found report with your local shelter/animal control officer. 2. If you have found an animal, please bring them to your local vet and have them scanned for a microchip OR bring them to your local shelter. 3. Go door-to-door and ask neighbors if they have seen your pet/if they know the pet you found. 4. Post an ad on Kijiji. You should also check Kijiji ads as many people who have lost/found pets will advertise there. Look in every category, lost and found, free to good home and for sale. 5. Pass out flyers in your neighbourhood and/or tape them to poles, bus shelters, etc. 6. Put a sign on your lawn indicating that you are missing a pet/have found a pet. **I LOVE this one and never would have thought of it myself!**
