CLEAR THINKING: From Psychology to Bibliology... Psychologist William James stated that a great many people think they are thinking when they are merely rearranging their prejudices. Reason / logic discovers order in the universe but does not create it ex nihilo. The revelation (not the invention) of the principles of logic (i.e. law of identity, law of contradiction, and valid rule of inference, etc.) is part of Gods signature of how the mind is wired to correspond to reality. In other words, God created the mind so that true thinking is possible. Genesis 1:3 - God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. John 1:1-4 In the beginning was the Word (the reason, logic, meditation, etc.), and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was with God in the beginning. 3 Through Him all things were made; without Him nothing was made that has been made. 4 In Him was life and that life was the LIGHT (illuminating, animating force that makes man tick - that is responsible for how things work in our minds - i.e. receptor function, chemicals are able to interact and transform into learning, etc., etc.). Romans 1:20a For the invisible things of Him since the creation of the world are clearly seen, being perceived through the things that are made (the unseen - The Word (logic, reasoning, etc.) before it became flesh in the person we know as Yeshua (jesus) is responsible for what we are/see - ability for logical, clear thinking. Psalms 19:1 The celestial realms announce God’s glory; the skies testify of His hands’ great work. Romans 1:20b being perceived through the things that are made, even his everlasting power and divinity; that they may be without excuse. Yeshua is responsible for our minds ability to logically, creatively, scientifically, and systematically think so that we may perceive that which is all around us with out excuse as to its (and His) awesomeness.
