CLEM says, I have an Izuzu truck, a Suzuki farm ute, a Polaris quad, my wifes Subaru and my Colarado, all with bull bars, why? Because I need the bloody things to prevent me from going broke paying for replacement parts and panels, and also because I like the look of them. What I think this fight should be about is; 1, preserving the right to carry out ones livelihood and lifestyle in the bush, whether or not one lives in the bush or not. 2. Being able to customise ones vehicle without UNDULY endangering the health and safety or unreasonably impacting on peaceful repose and pursuits of others. What I think this fight should not have to be about, and what really pisses me off is; 1. Being unreasonably governed and regulated by those members of boards and parliaments who primarily reside in the cities and whos knowledge of matters rural, pertains mainly to sometimes driving past the local park and the odd article on TV or the news papers. 2. Being harassed and victimised by SOME members of the constabulary whos minuscule ego needs boosting or little dick syndrome needs pampering, because the vehicle they are stopping does not conform to their own personal approval. 3. Having my valuable time wasted because some apprentice Einstein doesnt know the laws he/she is pretending to enforce OR the revenue target for that particular week needs boosting. FFS GIVE US A BREAK, I am sick of pedantic little pissants trying to nanny wrap our lives in cotton wool and legislate to protect us from every possible threat. If Police and legislators are serious about road safety they need to spend their time targeting speed, drink driving and vehicles that are really unroadworthy, not whether or not a bull bar has an ADI stamp or sticker on it.
