CLM wrote, Hi, my daughter was just fitted with. BARD button on Friday. She is 6 years old and her last tube feed was NG breastmilk at 6 months. We cant use her button until Thursday when the stitches are removed. But I have no idea about feeding her. My friends talk about it, but it mostly goes over my head! I want to go straight to a BD but dont know where to start. I bought a Thermomix in preparation for this, but I have no idea how to get the consistency right, how to make any adjustments to the giving sets, etc. I intend using refillable food pouches so she can start off orally and switch to the pump once she starts refusing to eat any more. This will make things easier for school. But would the food be able to be thick enough to do this? She is on thickened fluids (honey consistency). Any help would be appreciated. Especially in relation to the BARD as my friends kids all have Mic-keys.
