CLOCKERS (1995) Clockers originally was to star Robert DeNiro and to be directed by Martin Scorsese. Richard Price wrote the Novel and the screenplay too. Along the way DeNiro and Scorsese decided to get off and make Casino. I was asked by Scorsese to come on and take over. I wanted to change the point of view from the middle age Detective Rocco to the Teenager Dealer Strike, who was played by Mekhi Phifer. which was his 1st film.
